Simran Lamba

I am a counsellor with experience supporting adults experiencing trauma, sexual harm, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, and significant life transitions. I work across ACC Sensitive Claims, Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP), and private practice, supporting individuals from a wide range of cultural and personal backgrounds.

A significant proporion of my clinical work involves supporting adults who have experienced childhood trauma, sexual harm, family violence, and other complex or relational trauma. I am an ACC Sensitive Claims provider and an approved Specialist Cover Assessment Assessor.

My therapeutic approach is pluralistic, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I believe that every individual brings unique experiences, strengths, and goals to therapy, and I tailor my approach accordingly. Drawing from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Person-Centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)- informed interventions, mindfulness, and psychoeducation, I work collaboratively with clients to support emotional wellbeing, resilience, and meaningful change.

Having lived in India, Chile, and New Zealand, I have developed a deep appreciation for cultural diversity and the importance of providing culturally responsive care. I enjoy working alongside people from a wide range of cultural, ethnic, and personal backgrounds and strive to create a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported.
