Hendon Stephens

Hendon Stephens is a counsellor and cultural supervisor who brings a grounded, relational, and culturally responsive approach to his work. His practice reflects a blended infusion of Te Ao Māori and western therapeutic ideologies, allowing space for both clinical understanding and cultural connection within the healing process.

Hendon has experience supporting individuals navigating trauma, grief, identity, mental distress, family harm, and Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) challenges. He is passionate about helping people create meaningful change within themselves by strengthening self-awareness, restoring balance, and reconnecting with their own values, strengths, and sense of purpose.

His approach is authentic, compassionate, and honest, with a strong belief that healing happens through whakawhanaungatanga, safety, and genuine human connection.

“He aha te mea nui o te ao? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata.”What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people.
