Sophie Buxton

I offer a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever may be happening in your life. Starting therapy can sometimes feel daunting, and I aim to create an environment where you feel safe, listened to and understood.

My approach is psychodynamic or relational, meaning together we may explore thoughts, feelings and patterns that may sit outside of immediate awareness and consider how earlier life experiences can shape the way we experience ourselves, others and the world today. Developing this understanding can open the possibility for change, helping to reduce stress, strengthen coping, improve relationships and support a greater sense of wellbeing.

My work is person-centred, trauma-informed, transpersonal, and incorporates Jungian theory. When it feels helpful for you, music can also be incorporated into therapy as another way of exploring and expressing experiences that can sometimes be difficult to put into words.
