Lima Maywand is a dedicated and compassionate counsellor committed to supporting individuals on their journey toward healing, growth, and meaningful change. With extensive experience across community, clinical, and forensic settings in both New Zealand and Australia, Lima brings a client-centred, trauma-informed approach to every session. She is skilled in a wide range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including ACT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

As the founder of New Zealand Counselling Services, Lima provides one-on-one and couples counselling, develops personalised treatment plans, and fosters lasting therapeutic relationships built on trust and empathy. Her background includes AOD work, crisis support, workplace wellbeing, and family systems practice.

Fluent in Farsi, Dari, and English, Lima is passionate about working with diverse communities and creating safe, inclusive spaces for all clients. Her mission is to empower people to become the best versions of themselves through understanding, compassion, and purposeful guidance.
