Allison Li

Allison has worked in public and mental healthcare settings for 10 years. She is an experienced and skilled psychologist who supports adults and draws on a range of evidence-based therapy models to inform her psychological practice. Allison believes in person-centred care and works in collaboration with her clients to promote and maintain wellness which include increasing symptom management, reducing disability and distress, addressing underlying difficulties, maximizing self-care, developing coping skills, strengthening protective factors, and improving quality of life. Allison acknowledges the need to identify therapy targets quickly to alleviate distress and the importance of the therapeutic relationship built on understanding, warmth, and trust. She is culturally sensitive and recognizes the importance of meeting the needs of Māori tāngata whai ora and other ethnic minorities in Aotearoa New Zealand. “Working together we can utilize your adversity and strengths as a foundation to create changes you choose and build the life you desire to lead.”
