Dr Kess Hunt

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist working part time in private practice in Mt Albert, Auckland. I have been registered since 2014 after completing my Doctor of Clinical Psychology at University of Auckland. I had my sights on a career in psychology since my late teens when I trained as Youthline telephone counsellor but after completing my undergraduate degree I decided to get some real-world experience and found myself working in Human Resources for a NZ-based corporate law firm and then for an international investment bank in London. I continued my voluntary work whilst living in the UK working with Samaritans (telephone counselling) and Headway (brain injury support) before returning to NZ to train in Clinical Psychology as it was clear that it was my passion and my calling. My doctoral research related to family-therapy for traumatic brain injury survivors and their whanau.
